After Silence
Founded in 2003, After Silence offers support to victims of rape and sexual abuse. The site also hosts message boards and chat rooms for victims. After Silence’s website is also available in Spanish at: http://www.aftersilence.org/espanol.php.
Pandora’s Project
Pandora’s Project is a non-profit organization that supports victims of rape and sexual abuse. The site offers peer support via chat rooms and message boards. Additionally, the site hosts a lending library including articles and other resources regarding sexual violence. The site also contains information for family and friends of victims of sexual violence.
The Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault
The Illinois Coalition Against Sexual Assault is a network of 33 community-based crisis centers throughout Illinois. Each center offers 24 hour services as well as support and advocacy services for victims of sexual assault. The site contains information on sexual assault in Illinois as well as contact information for each of the 33 crisis centers. Recovery.org is an organization that provides information and resources to victims of addiction and sexual or domestic violence. The site particularly seeks to connect victims with inpatient and outpatient facilities as well as the other counseling and support resources that can help aid in the recovery process. The site provides its own assistance hotline in addition to extensive contact information on many hotlines and recovery facilities across the country.
