E-Portfolios are digital repositories for coursework and other artifacts that demonstrate your achievements. The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at Dominican University maintains an e-Portfolio requirement for students pursuing an MLIS, Accelerated MLIS, or MSIM. Each student's e-Portfolio is due before the end of the student's last semester. (Check here for exact dates.) "The e-Portfolio project 1) enables you to showcase your best work from your SOIS courses, demonstrating your unique talents and skills, and 2) shows evidence of your competencies according to each of the SOIS student learning goals" ("Portfolio Guidelines").
E-portfolios often take the form of Web sites through one's own personal Web site domain or by using Web site creation tools available for free or for purchase online. This guide will highlight a few of the many site options available and help orient you to the compilation of your own e-Portfolio.
