Summer Dialogue Series Session #2: Exploring Whiteness & Allyship

The Center for Cultural Liberation is excited to invite you to another Summer Dialogue Series. Please join us for our second CCL Summer Dialogue Series session on Wednesday, July 14th at 2:30PM on Zoom. DU Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Precious Porras and University Minister and TRHT Coordinator Amy Omi will speak on whiteness and how it plays a role in allyship. Following this panel, attendees will be broken up into breakout groups for small-group discussions.

The summer dialogue series will consist of the following topics:

Wednesday, July 14th at 2:30PM - Exploring Whiteness and Allyship

Wednesday, August 11th at 2:30PM - Serving Non-Hispanic Students at an HSI

Coming Out of the Shadows at Dominican is inspired by the annual Coming Out of the Shadows event, coordinated by the Immigrant Youth Justice League (IYJL), which organized its first COS in March 10th, 2010, and several other student organizations. Although it was the first of its kind for undocumented individuals in the Midwest and across the country, the roots of COS are attributed to the National Coming Out Day organized by members of the LGBTQ+ community. Coming Out of the Shadows is an act of resistance against rhetoric that dehumanizes undocumented immigrants. We invite faculty, staff, and students, undocumented or not, to stand with us at this event. You can show your support during the rally by making your own poster, or even just by bringing a friend.

A teach-in for elected officials and organizations running decriminalization campaigns focused on reparations for the War on Drugs. Hosted by Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation.
