Things To-Do at Home

  • Fill out the Census

Bonus points for social distancing: Filling out the census is something you can safely do from home and protect census workers by discouraging them to visit your home in April! If you fill out the Census, they won't make a stop at your door. For more information regarding the Census, why it's important and how to fill it out--visit our Census Libguide!

  • Need some light reading? Flipster has you covered!

Flipster is a digital magazine newsstand that allows you to browse the latest issues of popular magazines from your computer or mobile device. You can access Flipster through Dominican's database and flip through your chosen magazine by a computer, tablet, or phone.

  • Make a mask for yourself or others in your community

Our medical personnel and first responders throughout the country are faced with limited supplies, often having to reuse masks and the CDC now recommends everyone to wear cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

If you have sewing skills, help JoAnn Fabrics with their goal to donate 100 million masks at  https://www.joann.com/make-to-give-response/

If you can't sew, watch the Surgeon General demonstrate how to make a sew free mask:
