Students with disabilities are encouraged to come to the Academic Success Center (ASC) to work with the Disability Support Services Coordinator to identify reasonable accommodations. A number of assistive technologies, ie; Dragon Naturally Speaking (Voice Recognition Technology), Kurzweil (Reading and Writing Assistance Equipment) are available as well.

Disability Support Services promotes and facilitates full access by empowering students with reasonable accommodations, training, collaboration, and innovative programming to create opportunities for diverse learning environments that are usable, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable and is an aspect of diversity that is essential to the larger mission of Dominican University.

Kurzweil 3000–firefly enables all students, including those with learning differences such as dyslexia and English language learners (ELL and ESL), to learn from the same content as their peers. Anchored in the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL), it supports the complex tasks of developing fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, study skills, and test-taking strategies. Built-in multisensory tools foster active participation throughout the full learning process, while anytime, anywhere access to curricula promotes independent learning at home, in the classroom, and beyond.
