The Bambu Lab X1 Carbon printer is located in the Weathertech Innovation Lab on the first floor of the Rebecca Crown Library. This machine works by extruding hot molten plastic through a nozzle to build objects one thin layer at a time and is one of the best prosumer desktop FFF printers on the market. This printer is fast and easy to use, which makes it ideal for creating prototypes and basic proof-of-concept models. This printer comes preloaded with dozens of designs that are ready to be printed. Standard materials for this printer are PLA (polylactic acid) and ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) plastic, both of which will create strong, durable prints. This printer uses the slicing software called Bambu Studio which is used to prepare your 3D models to be printed.
