Studio One 6

What is Studio One?

Studio One 6 is the sixth major update of the Digital Audio Workstation (or DAW) Studio One by Presonus. In the recording studio at the version we have installed is Studio One 6 Artist, which has most the major features that exist on the Professional addition, with the exception of a few specialized tools. Due to it's relatively intuitive workflow and user interface it is often recommended as a starter DAW for people new to audio production.

What is a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW)?

DAWs are feature rich tools that are most often used for music, but can also be useful when wanting to work with spoken word audio (e.g. a podcast) especially when you need to handle multiple people talking at the same time. There are a wide variety of virtual instruments and effects that come with most DAWs as well as access to even more via the internet. They can be somewhat intimidating  at first glance, but with this guide you will be well on your way to exploring and making the sounds you would like to make!
