Lit Fest 2025

Join us October 6th - 17th for a 2 week long celebration of literature in its many storied forms!

Lit Fest kicks off October 6th with a hands-on book binding workshop led by librarian Phil Skurski and is punctuated halfway through by the Tabet Poetry reading October 9th--which will be given by Ross Gay this year. The Lit Fest concludes October 17th but will keep the literary momentum flowing by leading straight into the Medieval + Monsters Conference, October 17th-18th.

While we are sill inking all the details, here are some events you can anticipate seeing in the Fall:

  • Student Readings
  • Book Swap/Sale
  • Scary Storytelling
  • Multilingual Literature Salon
  • Book Cover Bedazzling
  • DIY Book Binding repeat event

DO YOU have an event you'd like to propose for Lit Fest? We'd LOVE to hear it! Use the form HERE to tell us all about your wonderful event idea! (https://forms.office.com/r/wM9M7BGUi3)

Want to host an event but unsure what it should be? Some potential events we'd love to see are:

  • Literature focused academic/research talk
  • Staged reading of a (short) play
  • Writing workshop
  • Guest speakers

Of course, please still share any other ideas you may have! Lit Fest is both a celebration of Literature and the Dominican community as a whole.

All submissions will be considered, though not all may be selected for this year's Lit Fest.
