WeatherTech Innovation Lab

The WeatherTech Innovation Lab (WIL) is both a makerspace in the library and an emerging technologies lab

Use of Lab

Services for personal projects may be limited based on time, material, and equipment availability. Users can either visit the Innovation Lab while open or can request items through our student workers or innovationlab@dom.edu.

We encourage you to continue to use the WIL and our 3D printing service for personal projects, within these guidelines. If we need to discuss limits to that use with regard to a specific request, our staff will reach out to you individually.

Safety

The WIL has a Safety Plan which ensures the safety of our users and student staff. Student staff are regularly trained in the execution of the Safety Plan, and all users of the WIL are required to attend an orientation which includes training on the safe use of the space and its tools. Some specific rules of note:

  • We do not allow the use of outside cutting tools in the WIL.
  • Only qualified full-time WIL staff members are allowed to use troubleshoot the 3D printer. If you run into any issues with the printer, please reach out to our student staff or contact innovationlab@dom.edu
