Latine Experience

The Center for Cultural Liberation exists to retain, support, and celebrate students from historically marginalized backgrounds. By fostering an inclusive campus climate that educates and challenges, the CCL upholds the longstanding social justice values of Dominican University.

El Centro is a pillar of the new multicultural resource space for ALL students! We provide scholarship application assistance, peer advising support, bilingual resources for college success for students and families, support for immigrant students, and a brave and welcoming space for ALL!

First in the Family (FITF) is a first-generation student organization that provides support and opportunities for first-generation students! We provide conversational talks about issues that college students face (especially first-generation students), help meet the needs of first-generation students, spread awareness about first-generation, host fun events, and MORE!

ODEI is dedicated to assisting the community in discovering how to live together, inclusively. The goal of the ODEI is to extend the benefits of diversity to all members of the Dominican community by working to equip students, faculty, and staff for responsible global citizenship. ODEI's goals and mission are supported by the values of caring and compassion, welcoming and hospitality, confidentially and acceptance, fairness, continuous improvement, and periodic review.

We as Latino/a/x Leaders at Dominican University acknowledge and recognize that cohesiveness, true influence, and social change comes from diversity, inclusion, and the willingness to change. We endeavor to promote awareness, within and beyond the Latinx community, that incorporates all facets of our culture rooted in Indigenous, African, and European ancestry. It is our mission to promote political, social, cultural, ethnic, and professional awareness that furthers the progression of the Latinx community on both collegiate and community levels.

Social Justice Advocates work to promote and enhance diversity initiatives, implement diversity programs, support Student Life’s statement on multiculturalism, act as an appropriate role model for all students, and support Dominican University’s commitment to diversity.

The Undocumented & Immigrant Allyance (UIA) seeks to establish a safe and inclusive environment for all immigrant students (undocumented, migrant, or refugee) through building community, building partnerships within and outside of Dominican University, and unapologetically advocating for the rights of all immigrants.
