Sociology

Contemporary Sociology (CS) publishes reviews and critical discussions of recent works in sociology and in related disciplines which merit the attention of sociologists. Since not all sociological publications can be reviewed, a selection is made to reflect important trends and issues in the field.

Established in 1986 by the International Sociological Association (ISA), International Sociology is a highly ranked peer reviewed journal whose aim is to reflect the theoretical and empirical diversity of international sociology. Particularly welcome are papers which explore contemporary social challenges and transformations affecting global society or which highlight how an international perspective can provide fresh insights contributing to the development of international sociological theory and knowledge. As the journal caters for the diverse sociological community it welcomes theoretical contributions as well as more empirical papers using qualitative and quantitative approaches.

The journal Qualitative Sociology is dedicated to the qualitative interpretation and analysis of social life. The journal offers both theoretical and analytical research, and publishes manuscripts based on research methods such as interviewing, participant observation, ethnography, historical analysis, content analysis and others which do not rely primarily on numerical data.

Sociology, flagship journal of the British Sociological Association, publishes peer-reviewed articles advancing theoretical understanding and reporting empirical research about the widest range of sociological topics. Sociology encourages submissions using quantitative and qualitative research methods.

The official journal of ASA’s Section for Racial and Ethnic Minorities, Sociology of Race and Ethnicity publishes the highest quality, cutting-edge sociological research on race and ethnicity regardless of epistemological, methodological, or theoretical orientation.
