DaVinci Resolve

A guide to the basics of editing video and audio with DaVinci Resolve.

Exporting Projects

Once you’re satisfied with the edits you’ve made to your project, your last step is to export it as a viewable file.

Start by clicking the [Delivery] tab marked with a small rocket ship at the bottom of the screen:

This will open the export menu on the left side of the DaVinci interface:

Start by choosing a final name for your project file, as well as the location on your computer where you want it to be exported to.

Most other settings can be left as is, however changing the [Format] to MP4 is recommended unless you specifically intend to use another file format.

Once you’ve chosen your desired settings, click [Add to Render Queue] at the bottom of the menu:

This will send your project to the Render Queue on the opposite side of the window:

Finally, click the [Render All] button at the bottom of the render queue to start exporting your project. All that’s left is waiting for the project to finish the rendering process. Once your project is completely rendered, it should appear in the location you assigned in the export menu.
