Pick up your physical ILL materials at the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. Have your Dominican ID ready!
Return your items to the Circulation Desk on the main floor of the library. Items can also be dropped off in the book return located outside of the sliding doors on the lower level of the library.
ILL is the system to use when you have exhausted other options. If you are searching for a book specifically, double check the title is not available through I-Share by searching in the catalog.
Search for the title of your item within the All I-Share Libraries search filter:
If you see the title you need, make an I-Share request. If you do not see the title you need, follow the steps below.
From your ILL account page, there are two ways to order ILL books.
1. Find the item through a WorldCat search. This search is separate from the Rebecca Crown Library catalog, and will encompass library collections across the globe. This is the search bar found at the top of your ILL account page:
In order to see materials eligible for ILL, select the Libraries Worldwide filter from the left panel.
The Format filter will be a big help as well: select whether you are searching for a book, article, video, etc. As you can see, there is also a feature to search within I-Share Libraries. This is another way to double check that the title you need is not available through the I-Share system. If it is, stop the ILL request and make an I-Share request instead.
When you find the exact title you need, select the item. This will lead to a webpage dedicated to information about the book. Take a second to double check this is the item you need. Check the title, author, date, and format. After confirming your item, select the blue Request via Interlibrary Loan button under Access Options on the right side of the screen.
From there, you will be taken to an ILL form that is automatically filled out with the item's information. Scroll to the bottom of this page, and select Submit request to complete your ILL request.
You will receive a message on the website that your request is confirmed. By selecting My account --> Requests, you can see all the ILL requests you have submitted. Your latest request will be shown there almost instantly with a status to let you know the request is processing. You will also receive a confirmation email sent to your Dominican/Outlook account.
2. If you have the item information (title, author, date, etc.), you may manually fill in the request form by selecting the blue Create Request button.
On the next page, select Book and the book-specific request form will appear.
Include as much applicable information you can about your item. This might require you to locate an ISBN or DOI. Learn more about those numbers here.
After filling the form out, scroll to the very bottom and select Submit request to complete the ILL request. You will receive a message on the website that your request is confirmed. By selecting My account --> Requests, you can see all the ILL requests you have put in. Your latest request will be shown there almost instantly with a status to let you know the request is processing. You will also receive a confirmation email sent to your Dominican/Outlook account.
